Join Edmund Blackadder, his hopelessly dim-witted servant Baldrick and a host of outrageous characters for a riotous collection of schemes, scandals, romance and revenge.
Set during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, Edmund Blackadder is no longer the snivelling loser of the first series. Now a cunning, sarcastic and self-serving nobleman, he has only one ambition: to improve his position, make some money and, whenever possible, avoid the attention of the Queen. With Baldrick loyally at his side – and rarely more than one disastrous idea away – Edmund’s cunning plans are never quite as straightforward as he would like.
Unfortunately for Edmund, life at court is anything but straightforward. Between the unpredictable Queenie, the relentlessly irritating Lord Flashheart, the foppish Lord Percy and a succession of bizarre visitors and disastrous schemes, keeping his head – and his dignity – becomes increasingly difficult.
Packed with razor-sharp wit, ridiculous situations and some of British comedy’s most memorable characters, Blackadder II is a hilarious journey through the absurdities of Elizabethan England. Expect plenty of plotting, plenty of chaos and, of course, more than a little cunning plan!
