The Reviews Are In...

Our production of The Producers was a riot of comedy, chaos and showbiz! We’re delighted to share some of the wonderful reviews and feedback our production received, and incredibly proud of the cast, crew and creative team who brought this hilarious musical to life.

"From the off there was a feeling that you were in for a special night at the theatre, musical numbers fizzed along with style and pace, along with Tim Harding’s brilliant Musical Direction and Emma Harley’s perfect choreography added to the abundant talent on display and enjoyed by an appreciative and excited audience."

"With the story established, Emma Harley’s production really launches itself into the stratosphere with the amazing pairing of our two leading actors – Daniel Cox as Max and Richard Cooper as Leo, took the stage by storm, wowing their audience with their artistry, talent, comedic timing and pinpoint characterisation.  A true delight to watch!"

"There were some magical musical moments that were truly memorable:  Leo’s ‘I Want to be a Producer’ was a musical theatre piece de resistance featuring the Chorus Girls and the Accountants – displaying amazing choreography and talent. "

"The star turn of the night had to be Daniel Cox as Max, retelling the story of the whole show summarised in the song, ‘Betrayed’ – it was an utter showstopper with Daniel giving absolutely everything to the performance, an amazing feat and a pleasure to watch."

"I am always impressed by the detail that goes into what could be passed over and the office set used for “I Wanna be a Producer” comes into this category. Bearing in mind, it’s only used for this one scene there was a lot of thought put into making this an effective backdrop."

"The two titular producers of the title are the ones that naturally drive the show as I can’t recall a scene without at least one of them in it and here the production was superbly served by the excellent partnership of Daniel Cox as Max and Richard Cooper as Leo."

"The musical numbers were well choreographed. Productions like this can live or die by their opening number and we had a very lively opening number in “It’s Opening Night”, which firmly set the background to the show."

"To summarise, this was a superb evening’s entertainment and even though it is quite a long show, the evening sped along nicely. Great cast, excellent musicians and fantastic staging, what more could you ask for?"

"The pair responsible for this potential transformation are the producer Max Bialystock (Daniel Cox) and his accountant-cum-erstwhile-producer Leo Bloom (Richard Cooper). These two work well together on stage, both hilarious with Max ranting and raving in complete contrast to the rather shy Leo who needs a comfort blanket to keep himself sane."

"This is not the only couple in the show as there is also the potential director Roger De Bris (Tom Bowes) and his “common law assistant” Carmen Ghia (Tyrone Howell) who, together, create a really funny gay double-act worthy of any farce and the two are clearly loving their parts with some ad-libs to boot."

"This is very much an ensemble piece involving nearly 30 actors and a whole range of different roles and costume changes (some of the funniest being the “old” ladies and the time when virtually the whole cast descended on the audience in a crazy conga)."

"This is musical theatre at its best and benefits hugely from the 12 members of the orchestra under the direction of Tim Harding"

"Always a joy to be present at a Tinker’s Farm production and my outing to see The Producers was no exception. "

"In the role of Max was Daniel Cox who looked like he was born to play this role and excelled in all areas. However, it is Betrayed which is the solo of all solos that topped a marvellous performance. Equally good as Leo we had Richard Cooper who also nailed the part as written. I Wanna to be a Producer was superb."

"Then you have the wonderful duo of Roger De Bris (Tom Bowes) and Carmen Ghia (Tyrone Howell). Again, totally as written in all the stereotypical glory that makes this show great. These are my favourite characters and led an extravagant rendition of Keep it Gay, which simply got bigger and bigger, eventually spilling into the audience."

"There was not one weak area in this production; cast or crew, and it was of the highest professional standards. Be sure to check out Tinkers Farm Operatic, for they are a gem of the Midlands theatre scene."
